Embark on a transformative journey of Yoga, Sound Healing, and Ayurveda at our exclusive 5-day retreat in the beautiful coastal town of Ericeira, Portugal.

Hosted by Anne Gocht, this retreat offers you a unique opportunity to reset your nervous system, reconnect with your inner peace, and provide you with healing tools that you can integrate into your daily life. Set just 2 minutes from the beach, in a cozy and peaceful space at Saone Guest House, you will dive deeply into the ancient wisdom of Yoga, Sound Healing, and Ayurveda, guiding you toward a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. Whether you are new to Yoga or an experienced practitioner, this retreat has been designed to nurture your mind, body, and spirit, offering practices to suit all levels.

Retreat Theme: Back to the Roots 2.0 — Our heart project continues.

Last year’s Back to the Roots retreat was born from a deep wish to slow down, reconnect, and remember what truly nourishes us. What started as a heart project became something much more — a shared experience of transformation, community, and coming home to ourselves.

After seeing how deeply it touched everyone who joined us, we knew we had to bring it back. So here we are: Back to the Roots 2.0.

Because this is not just a retreat. It’s a reminder that reconnection, grounding, and returning to simplicity aren’t things we do once, but something to revisit every year.

This second edition invites you once again to pause, breathe, and rediscover the simple, nurturing practices that bring balance and ease to body, mind, and soul. Together, we’ll explore how Yoga, Somatics, Sound Healing, and Ayurveda can gently bring us back to ourselves and to nature.

Like last time, our retreat centers around three holistic pillars that support this journey of reconnection:

  • Traditional Vinyasa & Yin Yoga — to energize, harmonize, and create flow between body and soul.
  • Sound Healing — to invite deep relaxation and emotional release.
  • Ayurveda, the “Science of Life” — to restore balance through mindful nourishment, self-care rituals, and daily grounding practices.

Back to the Roots 2.0 is our invitation to come home to simplicity, presence, and the essence of what truly matters.

We can’t wait to welcome both familiar faces and new souls into this circle of reconnection.


The Highlights:

The power of Ayurveda.

  • In Ayurveda, food is medicine, what you eat matters.
  • During this retreat, we place extra care on having balanced yogi diet and keeping you the highest amount of prana (energy).
  • The benefits of following an Ayurvedic diet & lifestyle are huge, ranging from improved digestion to improved energy level, better mental capacity & weight loss.
  • You will learn more about Ayurveda & Ayurvedic cuisine. The Ayurveda workshop we will explain more.

Traditional Yoga practice.

In our retreat, we carefully include 2 Yoga sessions per day: One energizing Vinyasa morning practice and one soothing Evening Yoga practice like Yin Yoga.

Each Yoga session is suitable for all levels, whether you’re just beginning or have years of practice. Both Vinyasa and Yin Yoga create a harmonious balance between strength and relaxation, energizing and calming the body and mind.

What does “Back to the Roots” mean?

Back to the Roots is about slowing down, reconnecting, and remembering what truly nourishes us. It’s a holistic journey that brings you back to simplicity, presence, and alignment with your body, mind, and soul.

This retreat is an invitation to rediscover practices that help you reconnect with yourself and nature, grounding you in balance, clarity, and inner peace.

Each morning begins in stillness:

  • Dhyana (Meditation) to center the mind.
  • Asana (Hatha-Vinyasa Yoga) to energize and ground the body.
  • Pranayama (Breathwork) to awaken inner energy and focus.

Another essential part of this retreat is community (Kula) – practicing together, sharing, and supporting one another on the journey.

Throughout our days, we’ll explore mindful practices, sound healing, yoga philosophy, and rituals that help you bring this reconnection into your daily life.

Most importantly, you’ll experience that true reconnection comes not just from movement, but from presence, awareness, and intentional living.

Vinyasa Yoga aka Yoga Flow.

  • Our morning Vinyasa sessions are designed to energize and activate your energy (Prana) through dynamic, flowing sequences.
  • We combine the Yoga flow with meditation & Pranayama.

Yin Yoga.

  • In the evening, we shift into Yin Yoga, a more meditative practice that invites deep relaxation and integration.
  • Through long-held postures, we release tension, improve flexibility, and activate the body’s energy channels, promoting deep healing and balance.
  • We combine Yin Yoga with Sound Healing which is a very powerful combination of healing methodologies you should definitely try!

Ayurveda - the "science of life."

  • Ayurveda, often called the small sister of Yoga, teaches us how to integrate holistic healing into all aspects of life, including our lifestyle and the food we eat.
  • This retreat will nourish you with Ayurveda-inspired meals designed to show how an Ayurvedic diet can be used as medicine.
  • On top of that, we include at least one Ayurveda cooking class or workshop to enhance your knowledge, allowing you to take this ancient science home.
  • Along with the workshop, our Ayurveda expert will send you a dosha quiz and provide individualized tips tailored to your constitution.

Sound Healing.

  • Using Tibetan singing bowls, and other alternative instruments, these sessions are designed to deeply relax your nervous system and clear energetic blockages.
  • Sound healing is an ancient practice that has been used for thousands of years to heal physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments.
  • During each session, you’ll experience profound relaxation as the sound waves bring you into a meditative state (activating your theta brain waves) that promotes healing at deep levels.

Breathwork (Pranayama).

  • Breathwork (Pranayama) is an integral part of each morning Yoga practice, designed to awaken the body and calm the mind.
  • Pranayama not only increases oxygen flow, it improves energy, mental clarity, reduces stress & enhances focus.

Meditation (Dyana).

  • Meditation is one of the eight limbs of Yoga & an optional but valuable part of the morning practice during this retreat, offering a chance to ground yourself before diving into the day.
  • It complements the Yoga flow by enhancing mental clarity, focus, and emotional resilience. It helps quiet the mind and deepen your connection to your practice.

Transformative Coaching / Yoga philosophy.

  • As a bonus, we are thrilled to include a special yoga philosophy workshop.
  • Through powerful tools and techniques, you’ll gain clarity, confidence, and actionable insights to transform your mindset and manifest the life you desire.
  • The workshop is optional & included in the price.

Wednesday.

  1. From 15:00: Arrival.
  2. 16:30 - 17:30: Welcome circle with welcome gift, sharing circle, and mantras.
  3. 17:30 - 18:30: Vinyasa yoga.
  4. 19:30: Dinner.
  5. 21:00 - 21:30: Sound healing meets Yoga Nidra.

Thursday until Saturday.

  1. 08:00 - 08:30: Optional Meditation.
  2. 09:00 - 10:00: Vinyasa Yoga.
  3. 10:00 - 10:30: Breathwork.
  4. 11:00: Brunch.
  5. 12:30 - 15:00: Free Time for Exploration, Sauna, Pool, or Garden.
  6. 15:00 - 17:00: Workshops such as Ayurveda Workshop, Yoga philosophy or Cacao Ceremony.
  7. 17:30 - 19:00: Yin Yoga with Sound Healing / Sound bath.
  8. 19:30: Dinner.
  9. After 20:30: Community activities like moon gazing or Sauna.

Sunday.

  1. 08:00 - 09:30: Vinyasa yoga.
  2. 09:30 - 10:00: Breathwork.
  3. 10:00: Brunch.
  4. 11:30 - 12:30: Closing ceremony with mantra chanting, sharing circle, and meditation.

A personal note.

Ericeira is a very special place that is very close to Anne's heart, as she lives there. But, it is also a place that everyone in Portugal should have seen. This beach village combines the most beautiful landscapes and beaches with a great holistic offer and a strong international community.

The very convenient proximity to Lisbon and other well-known places like Peniche, Sintra, or Nazaré makes it easy to visit more of Portugal. Anne recommends everyone to plan a few days of traveling before or after the retreat to explore these beautiful treasures in the area. Anne is always available for travel tips!
