FREE Upadesa Satsanga with Saccidananda Acarya in London, 6:15 - 8:15pm, Saturday, 9th of May,

Bunhill Fields, Friends Meeting House, Quaker Court, Banner Street, London EC17 8QQ

After the success of our first event in London (on February the 28th) Advaita Vedanta Ashram Europe (AVAE) is hosting another FREE event in London on Saturday, 9th of May, from 6:15 - 8:15pm.

The location is very central: Bunhill Fields, Friends Meeting house, Quaker Court, Banner St, London EC1Y 8QQ, United Kingdom (nearest metro, Old Street).

The event will be presented as follows:

  • Short traditional discourse on Advaita Vedanta
  • Guided Vedantic Meditation (Nididhyasanam)
  • Questions and answers
  • Deeksha (initiation) for those who are interested and willing to follow certain requirements.

All sincere seekers are welcome, whether they are already familiar with Advaita Vedanta, or are keen to find out what traditional Advaita Vedanta is.

Please note: we belong to the traditional lineage of Advaita Vedanta, transmitted directly from Ādi Śaṅkarācārya, and before him from his Guru, and his Guru before him, in an unbroken, beginningless paramparā.

These teachings have always been offered freely to humanity, and this remains true today. An authentic Guru does not charge for the transmission of the teachings.

Sadly, in the modern world, many so-called Gurus commodify Advaita Vedanta - teachings that have been freely given for millennia. More importantly, they present only a fragment of the path, omitting the complete, systematic methodology required by a sincere seeker. In this way, the teachings become incomplete and the seeker is lost. This is especially evident in Neo-Advaita, Neo-Vedanta, and the path of so-called “non-duality.”

We therefore offer a different paradigm: the teachings of an authentic, unbroken lineage, grounded in a tried and tested methodology that addresses the whole of the path and has consistently led seekers to Self-realisation. These teachings are offered freely, exactly as they always have been.

GURU DAKSINA

In alignment with our sacred Guru Paramparā, the nectar of Vedantic knowledge is offered freely, as it has been since beginningless time. This teaching is a gift (vidyā dānam), given without expectation, by a teacher who is a causeless ocean of compassion (ahetuka dayāsindhuḥ).

For the student, the natural and fulfilling completion of this sacred exchange is the heartfelt offering of dakṣiṇā—given voluntarily according to one's capacity. This completes the cycle (yajña), transforms the learning into a sāttvic (pure) endeavor, and honors the lineage.

Dakṣiṇā is a sacred contribution that supports the preservation of this eternal tradition – helping sustain the teaching lineage and creating opportunities for this wisdom to reach future generations.

With this in mind, whoever feels moved to make a heartfelt offering towards the cost of holding this free event, is most welcome to do so.
