Organisation
A not-for-profit event, the festival is commissioned by our our charity and produced by Optimistic Trout Productions CIC, a Community Interest Company. Any financial surplus funds creative environmental and educational projects. The Green Gathering community is made up of fabulous event coordinators and crew, directors of OTP CIC, trustees of the charity, and of course our inspiring ticket-buying festival-goers without whom the rest would be useless. Behind the scenes we’re a passionate bunch of festival-lovers, environmentalists, activists, campaigners, gardeners, musicians, builders, philosophers, educators, travellers, health workers and artists.

Our 'green' ethos is embedded in all we do
The Green Gathering is a showcase of real-life, low-impact alternatives. Our philosophy of ‘beyond hedonism’ creates space where creativity tackles ecological and social dilemmas in a tapestry of skill-sharing and entertainment. Campaign stalls, activist workshops and spoken word venues vie for attention with intimate music stages showcasing socially conscious performers. Traders and caterers are selected for quality and ethical sourcing. Heritage craft and renewable technology skills are passed on to new generations; our Permaculture community demonstrates practical future-proofing, and Nature's Way and the Enchanted Woods reconnect us with the earth and our own hearts.
