Embodied Yoga - Movements and Pranayama

What is Embodied Yoga in this class ?

Embodied yoga is designed to reconnect us with the heart of yogic practice, emphasizing the importance of mindfulness, breath, and the human body as a gateway to inner awareness.

The practice focuses on spiraling energetic forces, offers a gentle and mindful approach to awakening the subtle energies within. By tuning into these inner currents, we can cultivate a deeper sense of awareness, recognizing the intricate interplay of body, breath, and consciousness.

The practice hopes to guide one towards an intimate connection with their inner world, fostering gentleness, mindfulness, and awareness in daily life.

What do we do in this class ?

This movement class is guided to support an individual's recognition of awareness through bodily sensations. Embodied Yoga focuses on how one feels rather than how it looks. The asanas and movements are offered as an exploration rather than rigid forms. Weaving the asanas into a smooth meditative flow.

Pranayama is offered as an inquiry with the current breath gently leading into breathing practices where breath becomes a doorway to meditation. Most pranayama classes will also include movement.

Movement Improvisation is included in some classes to develop a sense of wakefulness to bodily sensations in a playful manner.

The purpose is to tap into the inherent wisdom present in the body - which is of connectedness with ones true nature of joy, freedom and lightness.

This class is open to all levels. 🙏🏻😊
