How we touch is concerned with how we relate to the world, how receptive we are to our feelings, energy and emotions and how we communicate our needs, limits and desires. The Touch Training introduces a vocabulary of Listening, Light and Deep touch techniques which we apply and explore in contact improvisation, partnering, contemporary phrases, somatic bodywork and instant composition. We will embody touch in a global and holistic sense, cultivate receptivity and explore themes of gravity, differentiating tone, porosity, fluidity, momentum, fascia and flight. The training represents a unique opportunity to enhance not only dance skills but also communication skills and for growing empathy in how we relate to ourselves, our partners and the more than the human world.
